“I think it’s very difficult to predict at this point,” he added.
“You only have your own credentials compared to last year’s car. You can get information from other teams but you don’t know if they are telling you the truth or just trying to worry you.
“You just have to look at your own desk and bring out the best in yourself.
“Ferrari, certainly their power unit, looked very strong at the end of the year. They were clearly the third fastest team at the end of the year.
“They also have a great driver line-up. I wasn’t sure if they would be a match as drivers but they seem to have managed that.”
“I think Ferrari will be the big unknown or possibly the big threat this year.”
